About Me

My photo
Oasis
Bow, Washington State, United States
Our new dream property is a veritable blank slate, allowing us to create our own little haven (and even has a greenhouse!) Finally we'll be able to put into action the plans we've had all along, including sustainability, stewardship, and readiness. One area we need help in is canning, so hopefully we can get together with someone nearby willing to share some of their wisdom in this area. And if all goes well, we'll have more than enough produce to share. After some recent large scale failures by the government to render assistance in a timely fashion following disasters, the need to be able to take care of ourselves is more and more evident. Personally, we have a long ways to go in this area, but we're on the right track. The upcoming year will see plenty of happy local wildlife, as the other half loves bird-watching. This means more birdhouses built this winter and more sunflowers planted this spring. We'll look into becoming certified as a backyard wildlife habitat. We'd love any advice we could get from the followers of our page, and invite everyone to follow along with our progress on our blog. Merry Christmas everyone and have a great upcoming year!
